The Persian scouts were a group of either Bedouin tribesmen or Southern Slavic warriors in 300 who acted as the potential bodyguards for the Persian Emissary himself in case of assignation or attack. They also carried bows and arrows and wore bright orange clothing and are seen near the messenger in the beginning. But when the Persian Messenger was executed by being kicked into a huge hole of death, it caused a mini attack such as a man's back was cut open by a Spartan guard as he fell off the side of the bottomless pit backwards, another man's face was also sliced and he plunged over, a Persian commits suicide by jumping head-down into the center of the giant Spartan well, a third soldier is pushed into the center of the enormous well, and the last jumps into the dark chasm as he disappears mysteriously through the black abyss.
